when is mainstream buying in?

This is crazy. gold approaching $1200 US and we only have scant reporting of its significance. Central banks buying gold only stirs a minor mention on most media outlets (in Oz), with perhaps the best coverage comming from the ABC.

Simple equation:

Media coverage = increased mainstream involvement

Surely the media are seeing the rise of gold as a big story with many angles to report on. Time to see it in the papers, TV and radio.

Or am I just onw of those perma bulls that cannot appreciate that mainstreet really are behind the eight ball.
