For those saying the sound quality of the Yuval demo was poor, how about this: Paddy posted an ultrasonic sound gun video earlier in this thread, and said "see you can get a sense of the quality and/or directionality".

That sound gun was inspired by the device in this video:


Something funny you might notice is that because the device indirectly produces sound using ultrasound, at 2:40 into the video you will notice the sound quality is awful, but a note on the video says the real sound was much better, but the camera couldn't pick it up properly:




Ever consider that maybe the AKP chip has a similar sampling problem because of the way it digitally reconstructs sound from coordinated pulses of ultrasound?

In other words, to our ears physically in person (which act as a low-pass filter as Yuval says) it sounds amazing, but to a MEMS microphone sampling at some digital rate, the sound simply won't be picked up because nothing is converting the ultrasound into a lower frequency that can be faithfully sampled at 44KHz.

Or maybe this 4 year old video is another part of the conspiracy????
