Only thing that can stop it is shortage of money;if the money that is in the market is needed elsewhere.The financing of all this war manoevring still hasn't been worked out,if we read between the lines.You can be sure that the man in the street will be the last to know.The behind the scenes negotiating could drag out for a lot longer but if it results in NO war,then surely the money that would have gone up in smoke could be put back into the WORLD economy.More bricks and mortar,more consumer goods,more strong stock markets.Don't be surprised if the markets take off without warning.
