gidday timmo69 thanks for the informative post I get the way shorters work but can you please tell me where do they borrow the shares from ? brokers whose loan out clients shares,without the clients knowledge? I have a commsec account and am one of those long term holders are the shares in my account able to be used to short?,or is it the funds who have bought large amounts of shares and then 'rent' them to the shorters? any answers would be great.
