The monash playground was an interesting experience thats for sure. I believe it closed because someone broke their neck on the flying fox. It was an accident waiting to happen. You used to get to the end of the travel still going flat out and when you hit the stop and of course couldn't hang on, you would be propelled feet first into a deep bed of grape pips. The problem was that you often got whiplash in the process. The last time I was there it was shut down after the accident and they weren't sure it was ever going to open again. They told us there had been a few reasonably serious accidents over time.
