    Comparing fuel costs per a pertange of operating costs with its main rival coal is not silly, its what makes the economics of nuclear power work...high capex , with a low opex. Its the fundementals behind nuclear energy economics.

    Reactors are very different as well to other types of energy production. A single day of turning the reactor off due to a lack of fuel is much more than a 5x increase in fuel costs.

    No one is suggesting a sustain price above $200 but a sqeeuze up to that high is possible. btw isnt the u.s. department of energy planning to create a national stockpile for energy security purposes?
