The Australian State has committed horrific acts of violence towards Aboriginals. From displacement to child abduction to straight up murder, our country has placed these communities in the precarious situation they now find themselves in. The quality of life Aboriginal communities have right now is the consequence of the racist and discriminatory policies our forefathers intentionally directed towards them with the explicit purpose of wiping their entire culture and existence from the face of the continent. I believe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have a long and unique history in this country, a history that should be acknowledged in the Nation's constitution. I also believe every Australian should have an acceptable quality of living and to do this for these communities requires specialised targeted policies that a Voice to Parliament could provide to government both in advice and legislation.

The problems in these remote communities is a national tragedy. I will be voting YES because I believe it will be a genuine step towards helping this countries' most vulnerable citizens.
