Such a huge aboriginal population in Melbourne??? Especially box-tickers who have no idea of what regional aboriginal communities even look like. They are doing a disservice to the women and children who are being abused physically and sexually in those communities. Kids never going to elevate their positions because they are afraid to sleep at night in their own homes, so too tired to go to school, let alone go with any sustenance provided. These city folk have no idea of why teachers and nurses in those communities have to live "behind the wire".They have no idea why the voice will make no improvement to the lives they pretend to "feel" for.
Fix the services and help that is already available ,but not reaching those areas where it is needed, before adding more administrative staff to swallow taxpayers money. Urban aboriginals and the elite mouths at the top executive positiions will the ones to benefit and "cry" for the desperation of the regional communities while actually taking away from them. They don't care. It just creates another ATSIC which this time will really be Aboriginals Talking Sh#t In Canberra. Total waste of enormous taxpayer money that could be used for real help.
