If climate scientists are right ---- meaning the southern regions where most of the Murray-Darling catchment is found gets drier, causing dams such as the Hume begin to dry.
Then there will be a crisis and politicians of all persuasions will be trying to do something to save the $30 billion industry provided by the Food Bowl of Australia.
Something will give and IMO a pipeline plan will be back on the table.
