I would be careful with repurchasing those shares in a short amount of time. Not sure if you've ever heard of wash sales? The ATO may disallow your loss if they're bought back in a short amount of time. I was under the impression that you had to wait a month but I can't find that info anywhere, but they do say a "short period" so I guess that's up to their discretion..
