with about 60% of this stock being held by 4 major shareholders it would be a very difficult task to attempt a takeover, unless a very large premium was offered.being a very long term holder of IXR i have been lucky enough to have some long general discussions with a number of directors of both UNX & IXR.(some being on both boards)if anything my general impression was there is more concern that IXR could be a target of a takeover.with over 40 million shares in UNX & are now generating income through their iron ore mine in SA, their involvement with CNI (toronto stock exchange)& not forgeting OZL about to begin a fairly large drill program on our soil.with a current share price of about 68 cents they could be a cheap entry into what i believe will be very exciting times for all the above mentioned stocks.
