Not techincally a bank but the Hindmarsh Building Society had a run on it one day when rumours flew around Adelaide that it was going bust...even the old "News Limited" which published an avro newspaper at time (god I'm must getting old if I can recall that!!) had front page saying Hindmarsh was in trouble.
Many would recall Don Dunstan was out the front in Gawler place telling ppl to stay calm that their money was safe.
I was very young at the time, but remember it well...:)
Hindmarsh Building Society ofc was the foundation for what is now the Adelaide Bank and now part of Bendigo Bank.
