I remember Metway Bank (now called Suncorp Metway) share nose dived from about $2.20 to about $1.50 in one day in 10/1990 when rumours started to circulate of its near collapse and panicing customers started to withdraw their savings. Metway Bank has just had a capital raising at $1.85.
