You want the cane and the strap, back? The black board ruler? The bully teacher who'd whack you over the ear for no reason whatsoever?
I'm always surprised by this: "I used to get the strap and it didn't do me any harm," the fools would say. Well, I never got the strap but I did get a great deal of help, encouragement and attention from my teachers (and parents) and -guess what? It did me a lot of good!
Being beaten hurts.
Being helped cures.
