Once the Ares deal evaporates AMP should collapse to around the $1.25-$1.30 mark.
It looks like Ares are trying to buy the whole company and an above market offer of $1.85 in the hope that they can get someone to take the bank and wealth division off them.
AMP Bank gets most of its deposits from AMP Wealth and most of the loans are distributed by AMP Finanicla Planners. How much value could this business add to another bank?
AMP Wealth is an unwanted "asset" at any price. I couldn't see anyone taking this division for free let alone actually paying for it.
The end is nigh for AMP now. All of the talk of takeovers and portfolio valuations has come to nothing. This will be the last year that AMP exists in it's current form.
May God save the queen, because nothing will save AMP now
