I am a recent entrant, so i never saw that $5 (only in the charts). I don't think there is a conspiracy to keep the share price down, but there is a 5.06% (as at 10/2 shortman) open short position which looks like it might finally be closing.
Just on Bank and stalled earnings. I have always suspected this was an infrastructure/software issue (stagnant $20b lending book hinted at this), and there was a line i highlighted on one of the threads which talks about investment in this area to 'enable scaling'. Once finalised i expect to see double-digit loan growth. $20b really is a small book and growing, at least early on, should't be too difficult. I don't think.
On lending generally, ASIC/APRA are expected to make some clarifying statements around the NCCP which has stalled business lending with onerous terms - in my opinion - and i expect this space will boom once that clarification is provided. Essentially the expected clarification is it does not apply, but currently this is a grey area. I see a SME credit boom coming which i expect to have flow-on effects to the economy and retail lending.
