Potential COVID-19 vaccine passes phase one of clinical trials

Australia could be the first country to develop a COVID-19 vaccine, but it could be rolled out in Canada first because the government has invested in University of Queensland according to Flinders' University Professor Nikolai Petrovsky. “Everything is on track, we have now proof that the vaccine is protecting against the virus in relevant animal models," Mr Petrovsky told Sky News. "We’ve shown that it is safe in human subjects in the phase one clinical trial, which was the first obviously, in Australia, and in the next few weeks we’ll have the blood tests in those subjects to show that the vaccine is making the right type of immune response".
