How many companies on the ASX can earn almost $500 Million/Y and only have a Market Capt of $7 B?
Suncorp's (SUN) NPAT was only $175M for FY19, and thir MC is $15.5B
Magellan's (MFG) NPAT was $364M for FY19, and their MC is $13.2B
Insurance Australia Group's (IAG) NPAT was $576M for FY19, and their MC is $15.5B
ASX's (ASX) NPAT was $492M for FY19, and their MC is $15.9B
So you get the general picture here. AMP is earning around (if not more) than these other Blue Chip companies, yet their Market Cap is about half.
So what is that telling me? It's telling me that AMP is undervalued. It has had a bad couple of years, and the share price has been hammered. My guess is that share price will keep going up from here now that the bottom has been reached.
Even at today's price it is half of what it should be when you compare them to other companies of similar size and profits.
