David was appointed to the AMP Limited Board as Chairman in June2018. He is also Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees and wasappointed a member of the Risk Committee in January 2019.

In addition, in February 2019, David was appointed Chairman ofthe AMP Bank Limited Board and member of its Risk Committee.

Experience

David has 40 years’ experience in financial services, withexpertise in banking and wealth management, as well as the industry’sregulatory environment.

David served as Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Bankof Australia from 1992 to 2005 and as the inaugural Chairman of the AustralianFuture Fund from 2006 to 2012 when his statutory term ended. He was also theinaugural chair of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds. Davidalso chaired the Financial System Inquiry, which reported to the AustralianGovernment in December 2014 and has previously served as a member of theFinance Sector Advisory Council and the APEC Business Advisory Council.

David holds a Bachelor of Business from the NSW Institute ofTechnology and a Master of Business Administration, commenced at MacquarieUniversity and completed at the International Management Institute, Geneva. Heholds an honorary Doctor of Letters from Macquarie University.
