    The origins of ANZAC Day are well documented and easily accessed and I'm not gong to spoon feed you.
    The fact you referenced it as a 'celebration' more than once in your initial post demonstrates the depth of your ignorance and it appears you have no appreciation of the impact WW1 had on Australia at the time with its small population, numbers serving and losses etc etc
    The day has since evolved into broader remembrance and commemoration for all those who've served and died in all Wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations and the contribution and suffering those who served then and since have had to endure. What's your problem with that ?
    What don't you understand about remembrance and commemoration ? It's not just about the 'Defence Force'.
    The longevity of the British Monarchy has nothing to do with it and nor do statues being pulled down somewhere.
