Weareone, it does not always correlate, but up or down on wall street really has to be seen in the light of the $AU against the $US.
Our dollar fell against the $US, so BHP's "fall" translates to around $37.55 here, so no damage done.
But if our dollar keeps falling, we're in trouble.
