Criticism of the desal plants is misplaced. They are a wise investment that followed the important declaration by Climate Commissioner Flannery that the dams will never fill again.
The construction of the desal plants was vindicated as the dams are at record low levels and it is clear that they wont fill again in corrected terms. While the nominal level of the dams is high and some are nominally overflowing this is a statistical anomaly. When their water level is corrected for the effect of the inverse polar votex and naval lint index they are dry.
