Flight Centre results the latest in a robust set of indicators that there has been a strong 1HFY10 in domestic Australia. Anecdotally planes have been pretty as I have travelled around.
I didn't see any crazy sales over the Xmas period, both QAN and VBA lifted base domestic fares $5 - 10.
It's all good for domestic traffic - VBA has a high exposure to domestic OZ. If V-Australia can stem the bleeding (say $50 M loss) I think we are going to see some good results in Feb - I expect a run well into the 60's in the run up to that report.
