Convenient for some, no doubt. Absolutely bloody annoyingly inconvenient for others.
If you are wealthy enough to purchase a new EV (which are way more expensive than an equivalent ICE car) If you are wealthy enough to own a home with an off-street garage. If you are wealthy enough for that home to be large enough for a solar system, and to pay for that solar system. Then yes, very convenient and "economical" even.
If you are among the millions of Australians that are not in that situation, maybe not.
