Supposing that EV batteries can be recycled for their valuable materials - for a start nothing ever has been fully recycled and further, how much energy will be required just to recycle?? It won't be cheap and just how much is able to be done in percentage terms and the bigger question is how many recyclers are there going to be to cope with the imminent (within 10 years??) demise of the battery packs?? Worth checking out just how the recycling is going for those solar panels and windmills as it seems a lot of it is going to landfill. If in landfill, out of sight doesn't mean the environment is happy.
EV's will not be in my driveway nor garage anytime soon - even with all the generous subsidies I like to drive stick cars and make my own mistakes (if any) and not some rubbish that failed on so many promises - the video btw is from someone who actually likes EV's:
There is also a reference to a charging cable that allows a 20 mile charge up from home in one hour. One hour for 'up to' 20 miles - wow isn't that something??? No thanks - prefer a 2 minute drive to the nearest servo and a full tank in 5mins.
Then the reference to autonomous driving option - a cool $15k for a software system with a mind of it's own - not safe nor effective and expensive to boot.
One just needs to learn to drive properly and won't need this expensive automation fraught with dangers. AIMO
