No-one knows when or where the bottom will be but it is quite often just on when everybody fesses up about their shenanigans(U.S.Banks!)Bear markets are rarely telegraphed as this supposed one is to us atm.It only ends when the little boy says the Emporer has no clothes,and from what Im hearing out of the U.S.the Fed believes itself to be adequatly covered.They are prepared to let inflation run to keep the Stockmarket going at all costs.How do we profit from this? Lowering U.S. interest rates is a given so the Dollar will follow them down.Gold seems the obvious choice however if its not rising in AUD terms on a large scale the costs of getting the stuff out become prohibitive.Oil would also look attractive but suffers from the same problem.Almost everyone is in a race to devalue their currencies vs each other although the Aussie vs the U.S. play may have some merit or even the Loonie vs the U.S.The Euro has had a great run but now the talk over there suggests concern on slowing growth and associated rate cuts.
