If a project looks so good I don't understand why companies just move straight to a Feasibility Study (FS) rather than go initially to a prefeasibility study (PFS) and then after a lengthy period go to a FS. The original PFS could have been enlarged.
What happens now is that the FS is expected to commence early 2014 - so valuable time (perhaps 18 months) and money has been wasted as consultants will need to rerun (repeat) work that has already been done.
It will be at least the end of 2014 or mid 2015 before the FS will now be completed.
I just don't understand why the decision to proceed to a FS could have been done very early. This also applies to the company PIR who have wasted at least 12 months. Time and redone work costs money.
