I try to keep my rural Radio Graham videos free of
the violence that came with white settlement, not
just towards Aboriginal people but among white
settlers, transported convicts and officials. That
is covered in Robert Hughes 'The Fatal Shore',
and in a blood-curdling Australian movie:
'The Proposition'. What adds to the horror
is the opening credits are accompanied
of an old English hymn being sung by a
boy with a pure voice. Then the horror,
floggings, beheadings and shootings
begin. Don't let your children watch
The Proposition. It's worse than Mal
Gibson's sadofest about Jesus Christ.
