In theory, if one was always going to hold on to their shares without the BB ever existing then it would make sense to sell into the BB and punt on buying in under 5c again for the same amount (or buy them now). It's free money and you could claim the tax loss. You still remain a long-term investor. Only problem is it would be a hold for another year for CGT.
All in my opinion (which often turns out wrong).
