I'm an immigrant. Thank you Australia for giving me the opportunity to pay my way through uni (no HECS allowed nor was it needed) and to work hard in getting a good-paying job in one of your financial institutions. Happy to live in a country where people are hired for hard work, skill and passion regardless of ethnicity.
It always makes me laugh when I see Australian's complain about how bad they have it in this country.
You want an education but don't have the money? Don't worry, the Government will give you HECS and even pay for a semester to go study overseas.
You can't afford private health insurance? Don't worry, the waiting lines might be longer but you'll be looked after free of charge.
You can't find a job? Don't worry, while you are waiting and looking please take this handout to get you through this hard time.
You don't have a home? We can find some community housing for you and put a roof over your head.
If these people think they have it hard in Australia, they'd be in for a rude awakening in most other parts of the world.
Australia is an absolute blessing to those people who open up their eyes wide enough to see it.
