I think Australia lives in such a me, me, me society. That's why we run out of everything in the supermarkets, we only think about ourselves. You'd think we have learn something from the toilet paper fiasco, but no it's now about RATS. Everyone wants one. The deputy chief medical officer irresponsibly says stock up on paracetamol, suddenly we run out of this essential item, just in case. We all know we already have some at home, we don't need more. I currently have covid, and have not taken one paracetamol. Not to say others might not need it, but even if they did, it might have been hard to find. Same with Rat tests. My kids got turned away from test centres because it was too hot, but no RAT tests were given. We drove to two test centres only to get turned away. They actually need to be tested as close contacts, yet people are just trying to get their hands onto these tests for the just in case.
