One reason given to public for hastily removing the debris from wtc1 after 9/11 attack was that the vault under wtc1, where morgan Stanley had previously stored non existent customer silver bars while charging its customers storage fees, this particular vault needed to be accessed asap since it was full of tons of precious metals. Once the vault was cleared of debris the armored cars lined up to transport the precious metals to new location, however the vault under wtc1 was found to be totally empty, no gold bars in it at all.
