I was thinking the same thing nammuldi. Do some shallow cheap drilling first based on the results of the AMT.
Maybe I'm ignorant but aren't these structures like massive bowls underground? Like in the picture here: http://www.smedg.org.au/shadhooperab.htm
which seems strangely like the AMT pictures. So I was thinking it may be best to start shallow then keep following (iteratively) the bowl structure down.
