Common thread manufacturing taken offshore because we cannot compete with cheap labour. I know of an engineering firm that looked to relocate to China but gave up on that because of the copycats who steal your designs & undercut you. Instead he went to the US , cheap labour , good infrastructure, safe environment ,good shipping & handling & people wanting to work .
Our competitors in the car game woke up long before we did BMW made in US, Thailand & South Africa is just a taste.
