I suppose if the govt employed all the unemployed , I. E. approx. 2.5 mil at say 50000 per year That would cost 250 bil dollars per year Qe, money of course, What jobs would they do ? A major number could be employed in the armed services, patrol our borders, maintain customs points etc. Others as enviromental officers , picking up trash and other green jobs , low level helpers for the disabled etc , and the rest working in various govt depts. They would pay taxes and spend the rest out in the economy ,so much of that 250 bil .would come back to govt revenue This is purely hypo, of course ,who knows if it could work!? With robots replacing workers and imports replacing manufacturing , what else can we do?
