    Hey Mazwegian ,

    I'm not sure about the ground floor apartments for older people . For sure stairs are a problem but I reckon newer buildings with lifts are the go. There is also a security issue with being on the ground floor .
    Outdoor space would also be nice but does require maintenance. If there are good facilities close buy ( cafes , parks etc ) I think this helps offset having a personal outdoor space .
    For older people , the newer retirement villages are looking pretty good ( in the country , not sure about the city ? ) and it's a growing sector . Might mean buying shares in the company rather than property .

    I agree about the inner cities being taken over by foreigners . I think that the Australian cities might somewhat follow the overseas trend , especially Sydney .
