Think it is not accurate to compare the actual share price but more accurate to compare market cap including in the money options (all these companies outstanding options are well below current market price, exlcuding the 45c SSN one's due in May 2011, I have just rounded to approx values) the 3 shares mentioned taking into account all in the money options would be on closing share price on Friday:
AUT - 385 million shares x $2.78 = $1.07 billion
SSN - 2 billion shares x $0.19 = $380m
SEA - 282 million shares x $0.92 = $259m
That will give you a better idea of what each company is worth. If you adjust the market cap by cash/debt you will also get a enterprise value which is used in some oil calculations and presentations that I have read.
Of course then you need to take into account current and future reserves and production to justify those values and so on.
