"The future price on carbon would be an additional cost, however Point Henry smelter is already losing money."

The Govt is so "Blind" no doubt they will emphasise that the Carbon Tax has nothing to do with the likely demise of Point Henry

It is unfortunate and more so as it is inflicted on the community not by Alcoa but by the current federal govt

Alcoa should also do more to market Aluminium as "Stored Energy" as with recycling rates in the 70% area it plays its part in conserving energy
