You are correct. There are many pessimists. However, these people don't say that they do not care what happens moving forward - even if the company improves. Pessimists say that they are not hopeful because of what has happened in the past. They also do not direct personal attacks at a person - at least they should not. The point can be made without insulting a person.
The person I responded to was not the first person to be pessimistic here. He was the first I saw to be directing a personal attack at a person who may just do many of us a lot of good. I do not know whether it might be or might not be a culture thing. However, where I am from - that's not Australia - to refer to a person as a leech is an insult of the highest order. In fact, we refer to people who have fallen and dedicated themselves to druqs and living in the streets as leeches. Those individuals are truly one of the worst segments of our community as they'd do absolutely anything to you to get their next 'fix' . Now, to come in here and see a respectable man being referred to as such - all over money and a decision you made voluntarily - is quite a sight to behold. To then add to that and state that whatever happens moving forward will be irrelevant to you, that just takes the cake.
It's not like I'd like an echo chamber. I'd like well-reasoned thoughts. That is all. Even the lacking thoughts are welcome. However, why go for the character of an individual? It would be better even if you labelled him the same way David Icke would do it. Anything would be better than what was chosen.
