Actually in the varmco case, no news is good news
The BOD would need to disclose any change to the original announcement to the ASX, unless they are totally incompetent. I think I prefer naïve as there are just too many important announcements shot from the hip before they are an actual reality.
The fact that this has not happened yet appear to me to assume that the BOD are of the opinion that it will be made. In addition, they must also be expecting that the deal as first announced is identical to what was initially announced, otherwise they would be in breach of their duty not to disclose any such changes.
If they are doing serious research with both the RMIT and the Sydney university then this is a good thing. I also like the way they are cataloguing their research findings.
