As you have received no other replies, heres my experience for your thoughts.
When I bought into precious metals a few years ago, my research here in adelaide showed that sellers had to charge gst. (They also had rather large margins for repurchase.)
I ended up opening an account with the perth mint, as no gst is charged on investment bullion, when purchased there. I don't know if this is available elsewhere
