Be careful if you buy and sell from a dealer , as they have to charge GST.

Easy to buy from Perth Mint and they will store it there for a nominal monthly fee. If you want to take the gold or silver with you at purchase time , you will have to call ahead to make arrangements for money to be cleared.

If you store it there you can walk in with a cheque and leave the gold there , as they have possession.

The difference between the buy/sell price is the mint's commission , and that is how they make a living. Coins and medallions have a premium.

I would not buy gold overseas.
