I agree with Jermaynew,
Charting can help you here, with things like charting sp and EMA (keeping it simple.
Shares will normally reach a low and be "boxed in" or consolidate at that point. ie trade in a range for an extended period of time.
This is a good warning signal to determine the resistance level (the top of the box) and as soon as a share breaks out, you then re enter.
You have not bought at the bottom, but you have bought on the upswing, which is much better than buying on the downswing.
