Size matters and the difference between SPX's Penny West and DRE's Illaara is of most significance.
SPX's Penny West was about 9 sq km in size.
DRE's Illaara is 900 sq km (a whole greenstone belt).
So, DRE's Illaara is 100 times as big as Penny West was!
Main point here is that a potential takeover party (a Major goldie) is already on the DRE register (and increasing their shareholding).
Each takeover/purchase is valued/negotiated for what it is and not based on a previous takeover.
