Guys they are forming their own GTL team. That is, they are poaching ex-sasol engineers and other grads from WITS to design and build their own reactor.

This means they did not acquire IP to this process or any knowledge or skilled employees in this process from the UCG acquisition. That was strictly for UCG. The other phase, GTL, they are going alone effectively. Trying to assemble a team to design and implement this in house. Using s.african consultants too from memory (megchem, i think).


There are plenty of s.african GTL engineers keen to make a move to Aus. Skills to do the job shouldn't be a worry. In a recent SASOL presentation, i read that they have something like 600 phd's working in their firm. They do more than CTL and GTL, but still it gives you an idea of the amount of labour available to do the job.
