It's not only where did they go wrong, but so far their still going wrong.'and selling part of frequent flyer would only be a continuation of the wrong direction, but plenty of buyers will be waiting to pay a premium for F/F.

ps 2 reasons why i am glad i don't do those 4/5 PA international trips i did 20 years ago,and only cathay where possible.

First airbus now making some aircraft in china i'm not sure for which markets, but i watch occasionally aircraft crash investigations ,not to watch aircraft crash but to see how so often it is a very very small mistake that results in bringing a passenger jet down. The chinese couldn't make lead free toys under strict US quality controls now their making the a320 airbus.

Let the chinese practice building their (very similar to airbus) comac aircraft for their domestic market for ten years first.I'm also a non current private pilot and doing my very simple pre flight 172 checks was always amazed how one nut (not me) could result in loss of control.Plenty of nut like mistakes on a A320.

And this may be unfounded i still wonder about the new materials used especially the % used on the 787,can't help but to remember the comet aircraft.Combine that with chinese made(not 787) A320 .

ps surfrat if qan continues the way it is going and some day you find your aircraft being squirted by some fire engine on landing,i'm sure with your experience you will be able to get a job flying chinese domestic routes. But you will need a new endorsement'landing blind in smog' new rules being introduced in china to reduce delay.Funny to hear cathay pacific quick response 'that rule only applies to internal domestic flights'.So for those that fly domestic in china enjoy your landing in your comac aircraft landing in smog.
20 years ago I flew one chinese internal trip once.

sry long post glta at qan .
