I can only comment from an engineers perspective.
I remember when EBAs were introduced, its an "agreement" between management and staff. Whats the options? Individual contracts? If there was a better option I am sure staff would look at it. But there is huge miss trust between staff/unions and management, and rightly so. EBAs offer staff at least some protection, all be it for a short time.
VA engineers actually get paid more than Qantas engineers.
FAs and Flt crew bidding I will have to leave to Surfrat.
And dont forget, the BOD vote for there own pay rises. Maybe staff should be allowed input to BOD wage rises, and put them on EBAs? Wouldnt that be great!
