Hi Ghosta, there has been a great deal of rich 'alluvial' gold deposits found all over the Pilbara in the last 150 years and at least the Egina find reported the water melon seed nuggets. But what your question assumes is that large areas of the conglomerates have outcropped. We know that in 2017 there were several instances in distant points of the basin where the outcropping conglomerates have associated gold, many with the 'watermelon seed' shaped nuggets, and at least Purdy's/Comet Well showing high grade concentrations of nuggets extending under cover.
What has outcropped any time in the last 1.9 billion years could have been remobilised a long way, the question is how much is still under cover? perhaps the majority of the relatively thin sheet like deposit is not at surface.
