Checked and on the day the inlsuion was announced 6 March excatly the same thing happened. Unusually high volume with a spike upwards but closing at the bottom of its range. These guys don't manipulate do they???????????
Today's manipulation means it gets included in their portfolios as low as possible so that the gains look even better.
