ECE Discusses with Namibian Government on the Exploration and Development Plan of the Large Iron Deposit

In recent years, with obtaining overseas junior mineral right projects as the work focus ECE has made the most of its technological advantages of geological exploration, and by “Going Out” actively to participate in international mineral resource development, ECE has made remarkable achievements.Up to now, ECE has obtained twenty-six exploration rights in Namibiawith an area of 138,72km2 and submittedapplications for twelve exploration rightswith an area of 924,8km2, involving copper, gold, iron, zinc, lead, and other minerals which many countriesare in urgent need of.With several years’hard work ofnearly a hundred geological explorationstaff,through preliminary exploration ECE has found a large iron deposit with the prospective reserves of more than 2 billion tonsin Cunene, Namibia.
During the National Day Holiday, Director General Shao Yi led a delegation to visit Namibia and discussed with Namibian Government about related work. From October 4th to 5th, Mr. Shao Yi visited Ben Amathila, Standing Committee Chairperson of South West African People's Organization, and founding President of Namibia, Mr.Nujoma. On October 6th. Mr. Shao Yi had an official meeting with Namibian Prime MinisterNahasAngula on the exploration and development plan of the large iron deposit. Mr. Prime Minister warmly congratulated on ECE’s discovery of the large iron deposit in Namibia and showed great interest in ECE’s proposal of establishing an industrial park in Namibia, and development plans of attracting Chinese investors, and constructing railways and ports.Hewas looking forward to have more talks on ECE’s detailed plan in the very near future.
On behalf of the bureau party committee, Mr. Shao Yi conveyed greetings to staff in Namibia, and held a special meeting about ECE’s work carried out in Namibia and made arrangements of the future work with Namibia East China Resource Exploration and Development Co., Ltd., EastChina814 Geophysical Exploration Co., Ltd., East China New Energy Exploration Co., Ltd and many other staff and units in Namibia.
